A Summer on the Move at Immergo Labs ☀️

It has been a great start to the summer 2026 season at Immergo Labs. Between a three-day co-design workshop with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, our first year exhibiting at Augmented World Expo, and a new class of summer interns, this summer moved fast. Here is a look back at what kept us going.

Co-Designing the Future of Veteran Care at Boise VAMC
In June, our team traveled to the Boise VA Medical Center for an intensive three-day co-design workshop with the VA Clinical Resource Hub (CRH) and iQUEST teams. Thirty participants joined the room, including 21 VA providers from across the country, four subject matter experts, and five members of the Immergo product team.
Rather than starting with assumptions, we started by listening. Our team shadowed clinicians, sat in on mock telehealth appointments using the VA's telehealth carts, and mapped existing clinical workflows to understand providers' day-to-day realities. From there, participants stepped into Immergo's VR and web applications to experience embodied telehealth firsthand, exploring movement therapy sessions, home exercise programs, customizable environments, and provider workflows. Hundreds of ideas followed, along with rounds of prioritization and cross-team discussion that produced a shared roadmap for what comes next.
This is co-design in practice: building technology with clinicians and Veterans rather than simply for them. We are grateful to our partners across the VA whose collaboration and expertise continue to shape the future of immersive movement care.

Making Our AWE Debut in Long Beach
This summer also marked our first year at Augmented World Expo. The 2026 theme, "I, Spatial," was a natural fit for a spatial AI movement care platform, and we showed up across three tracks: pitching at the Startup Pitch Competition, exhibiting at Booth S81 in the IVRHA Pavilion, and joining AWE's first-ever research poster track to share our co-design process for embodied XR telehealth.
We ran more than 50 demos over the week. Attendees customized their own virtual clinic, met a mock client, recorded full-body exercises, and took on a warm-up authored by 2024 Olympic Gold Medalist Amit Elor as part of our Olympian Demo Challenge. The friendly competition made a real point: engaging experiences encourage consistency, and consistency leads to better rehabilitation outcomes.
Conferences are ultimately about people. From clinicians and researchers to accessibility advocates and technology developers, every conversation strengthened our place in a growing XR healthcare community. A special thank you to IVRHA for welcoming us into the pavilion, right in the middle of the action.

Welcoming Our 2026 Immergo Summer Interns
We were also glad to welcome three talented students to the team this summer, in partnership with Fogarty Innovation and the California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (QB3) at UC Santa Cruz.
Clare Dominique Sanchez is supporting our media, branding, and marketing content, so keep an eye on our Instagram to catch her work. Lauren Molloy is focusing on refinements and additions to our Home Exercise Library, with new and updated programs on the way. Farina Salam is enriching the embodied sense of self in our immersive environments, improving avatars so that everyone on our platform feels well represented.
Onwards and Upwards
From Boise to Long Beach to our own office, this summer reinforced what drives us: movement care built alongside the providers and clients it serves. Thank you to every client, collaborator, provider, and partner who moved with us this season.
